2. Be mindful and respectful of any particular protocols in place at the businesses we visit.

Canadian and US citizens require only a valid passport to enter the country. There is no requirement to have an entry Visa.
TIME ZONE
The time zone for the Czech Republic is
GMT +1.
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
The average daily temperature for the Czech Republic during the month of May is about 19-20 C (66-68 F). Keep that in mind when choosing what clothing to bring with you. Spring is beautiful in the Czech Republic, but it might rain!
CURRENCY
The Czech Koruna (crown) is the local currency. The Euro is also used.
The current conversion rate can be found here.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
Please ensure you have sufficient “out of country” medical insurance purchased to cover the days of your
trip. You can obtain this from any number of providers including CAA or your bank. In some instances, personal credit cards also cover out of country medical coverage automatically. Purchasing sufficient coverage is your responsibility.
LANGUAGE
The local language is Czech, though English is widely spoken. There are Czech speakers in our group - so consider yourself covered!
SIGHTSEEING & USEFUL APPS
Although our Wine tour will take us across the beautiful Eastern regions of the Czech Republic, each of you will spend some time in our National Capital - Prague.
Prague is a jewel when it comes to architecture, culture, museums, and history. It is a perfect city to explore on foot. Many travel guides are available online. The Czech Tourism Department has created a number of excellent free cell phone apps that provide overviews of the country by region and what’s “close by” or available for things to do. These apps (for iPhone and Android) can be downloaded for free using this link http://www.czechtourism.com/useful-apps/
LOCAL CUISINE & WINE BARS

Traditional foods include roast duck, pork or venison, served with red cabbage and dumplings. If you're interested in light dishes to go with your wine, try some of the beef tartare (very different to one you know from Canada), trout in different variations or variations of pickled cheese or vegetables.
